I have a few cameras, An Olympus OM-1 (Oliver) an Olympus OM10 (Olivia), a Phenix (Phoebe) and an Olympus PEN (the digital version, she's called Lucy). As well as all of those I have a dinky little point and shoot cannon (Carl), which I dislike with a passion. Anywho I'm in high school and was in drawing class, and saw a Minolta SRT 101 sitting amongst pencils, tissue paper, and drawing props, and it made my heart shutter. This gorgeous camera was sitting there, lensless and treated like hell. So, I asked about it, and my teacher told me that it had belonged to some man back in the 60's, who passed it along to his son, who passed it along to his daughter, who dropped it. She donated it to my school, who tried to repair it, declared it a loss, and so gave it to the drawing department to use as a prop for drawing. I offered my teacher $100 for it, and she said if I could repair it, I could have it, and so I'm trying to repair it and buy a lens. Anyway, I was wondering how I sign up for this site. I know it's probably pretty obvious but you might be able to tell from my choice in cameras, I don't like and rarely understand all this technology nonsense. Thanks for the site. Using a Yashica 635 and needed a few questions asked that were answered for me in the manual. This camera takes awesome photos. I love it.

Thanks for the memories - I have an PENTAX ME SUPER - never had any problems with it --- except as follows:
1. Battery covers both stripped threads
2. Back cover locking mechanism weakened its tight grip against camera body.

Hello,

I adore this site, it helped me fix the Fujica that my mum recently gave me
With the young people in my generation mostly only owning and using expensive digital cameras, I'm so happy to be in possession of something a little different to the crowd. I am looking for a Yashica TL Electro X or an Olympus OM-10 to help start build my collection?

Fiona Tait: I am also definitely interested in the Pentax Spotmatic SPII of yours, I hope to hear information about it from you soon! Coincidentally, I reside in Dundee :)

A few months ago I found a couple of boxes of old cameras and lenses in my Mums loft. As I love good old quality engineering I did not want to just stick them in a household auction. Instead I took some notes and have only just found time to do a search on a couple of them: Asahi Pentax Spotmatic SPII and S1a plus Canon AL-1. It was great to find that someone might be interested in having them. Next time I am back in Scotland I shall look them out and see if I can find them safer homes.

I'm happy to have found your site. I do use digital cameras but thoroughly enjoy the feel of a tried and true SLR in my hands. I have a small collection of my own consisting of an Olympus OM-1n, OM-2S-Program, OM-10 and a set of Asahi/Pentax K-1000’s, a Pentax ME Super and a Pentax ZX-M. I just want to say “Thanks for the great information and Keep up the good work”.

Henry,
Thank you for the Olympus Pen EES-2 Aperture Repair. I bought this camera on eBay but the aperture did not work. I followed your instructions and just finished with the repair.
It works again!

My 14 year old high school freshman signed up to take a photography class and dummy me thought it would be digital. I have had a deceased relatives 35mm camera for 30+ years and never tried it. Found in the attic and bought a new battery and it works! Problem was knowing how to work it - it is a Yashica electro 35 and you had the manual posted. Photo guy said my daughter may hate me for making her use it since she has a digital, but it beats going out and buying a new one for a couple hundred or more. So, thank you for your site.
